Background
Aleksandra Świerk - a screenwriter, script consultant and mentor - works in Poland and abroad, supporting the development of feature-film projects within international initiatives such as TorinoFilmLab, Cinekid, Full Circle Lab, Racconti, ACE Producers and Netflix Scenarzystki na Horyzoncie.
She is the co-founder of Atelier Scenariuszowe, one of the leading screenwriting workshops in Poland, where she helps emerging writers develop their films and artistic voices. For years, Aleksandra has served on selection committees for festivals and competitions (including the Krakow Film Festival and Script Wars) and has collaborated as an expert with film institutions in Europe and Asia.
She is the co-author of the feature film Mary-go-round (premiere at SXSW, Audience Award at OFF CAMERA 2020) and the author of the short Camouflage, awarded among others the Grand Prix at the Demakijaż Film Festival and the Eastern Neighbours Film Festival. She is also a recipient of awards in screenwriting competitions (including the Trzy Korony). She is currently co-creating the Polish-Italian co-production Ciao, Bambina! (in pre-production), developing two new feature-film projects as a screenwriter in collaboration with France and Sweden, as well as her feature directorial debut The Bruise.
